Used Knox-Western model TP-400 550 SCFM
Compressed Natural Gas
Compressors
- Fully packaged
electric motor driven CNG compressors each with its own weather-proof
enclosure and complete with 200 Hp, 600/3/60 explosion proof electric
motor, inter-stage coolers and separators etc.
- The compressors are
Knox-Western model TP-400 four-stage unit rated for 550 SCFM (935 M3/Hr)
- Suction pressure range
60-80 PSIG. Maximum discharge pressure is presently 3600PSIG. Can be
converted to 5000 PSIG.
- This system was
originally installed in 1990 and the compressor presently has
approximately 18,500 hours of operation. The compressor has recently
been serviced with new piston rings.
- The Compressors have
been well maintained, and maintenance records are included.
- Dimensions:
- From the bottom to the
top of the lifting hooks it is 113".
- From the bottom to the
top of the actual unit it is 109.5".
- From left to right the
overall measurement is 304".
- The side view which is
not present it is 108.5" left to right.
- At the bottom of the
unit there are lift hooks that stick out 5.5" on either side which adds
a total measurement of 119.5" for the side measurement.
- Currently, both units
are in Lloydminster, Alberta and are listed for $70,000 US each. Please

ROCANDA INSPECTION
Compressor inspections on site at Marsden Saskatchewan.

Throw #1, Cylinder - 2-1/2" x 1-3/8" - Serial # 5005
Throw #2, Cylinder - 4-1/2" - Serial # 5006
Throw #3, Cylinder - 2-1/2" x 1-3/8" - Serial # 5002
Throw #4, Cylinder - 7.OO" Serial # 75071
Remove top covers and side doors for inspection.
• No visual sign of damage or excessive ware.
• Oil level was high , but appeared clean.
• Crankshaft main bearing end play not measurable.
• Main bearing appearance looked good.
• Connecting rod crank end clearance on all four throws were with in Knox
spec of .002" - .003"
• Connecting rod wrist pin end clearance on all four throws were with in
Knox spec of .001" - .002"
• Removed suction valves for cylinder inspection, valves removed were in
good shape,
Discharge valves looked good through the suction ports.
• Cylinder bores looked OK. from what was visible with pistons and head ends
in place.
• Piston rods are in good condition.
• Some of the covers do not have the proper washers under bolts, this has
damaged the covers
they will be ok for now but should be repaired next time they are taken off.
• Replaced all covers and re torqued.
Overall these units seem to be in operable condition, there is
instrumentation work to be done in both buildings.
safety devices and shut downs will have to be checked before putting units
on line.
